Islamabad: Mr. Muhammad Riaz Fatyana, Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, joins as a member of the Parliamentary Leadership Council at Pakistan Health Parliament.

Mr. Fatyana has been serving in the National Assembly since February 2024, and previously held the position from 2018–2023 and 2002–2013.

He holds an MSc in Psychology and a graduate degree in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, followed by an LL.B from the University of Sindh.

He has been a consistent advocate for strengthening mental health governance in Pakistan and introduced the Pakistan Psychological Council Bill (2024) in the National Assembly, one of the most significant recent legislative efforts to regulate and institutionalize psychological practice in the country. He has previously presented earlier versions of the bill in 2013 and 2018, showing long-standing commitment to the cause.

Mr. Fatyana currently serves as a Member of the Public Accounts Committee and has previously served as the Convener of the Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His inclusion in the Parliamentary Leadership Council strengthens the bridge between health policy, legislation, and national development priorities.
